The Tootsie Roll owl would be rolling over in his grave if he saw this: a lollipop with dead scorpion carcasses inside. They are being sold at a shop in foodies headquarters – the Chelsea Market. At first glance you think”what a clever little toy for kids!” then you realize that the scorpions are not plastic but real dead scorpions baked into a hard candy on a stick. Then your stomach turns and the salad you buy at this store everyday seems less appetizing than a second ago. So you skip lunch.
My question is where did they get these dead scorpions from? Someone combed the desert and had to find live ones first and then kill them (without getting stung) AND put them into a recipe! Was this Rachel Ray? She’s just freakish enough to pull this off.
