Next Generation Palm Pre found in Taco Bell bathroom. Thrown out after lack of media interest.

A next generation Palm Pre, skinned in the current Palm Pre casing was found in a Taco Bell bathroom outside Palo Alto Saturday night. A patron using the restroom said he found it sitting near a trash can under the restroom’s sink.

“Someone obviously is not freaking out right now. It almost seemed like they had to decided to throw it out but thought there was a chance one person might get excited about it, “ said Robert Geiger, who handed the phone into Taco Bell’s closing manger, Raphael Hernandez.

At first glance, no discernable differences were found between the current Palm Pre and this next generation model except for the label printed near the bottom of the phone stating “Next Generation Palm Pre”.

Mr. Hernandez’s attempts to sell the secret phone to media outlets were not successful. Even calls made to Gizmodo, the online gadget magazine responsible for breaking last week’s iPhone discovery, went unreturned.  After putting the phone up for sale on Craigslist, where it received no interest, Mr. Hernandez threw it out.

  1. I’ve had my Pre given that shortly right after release and am glad to discover (as a result of this forum) that I can now set a ring tone on incoming text messages and can search via e-mails and such. Now is there any hope for an upcoming release in which I can look for my calendar? Would make my occupation significantly much easier, discovering dates of last appointments. No other complaints, except that yesterday I had been in and out of Sprint assistance (not unusual). I believe I was roaming, and looked at my calendar. Every thing inside the calendar was just one hour earlier than what I had input. The clock was a single hour early as properly. I had been frightened to death–then, once we got back into Sprint assistance again, everything was normalized. Has this happened to any person else?? Shopping forward to answers, but please remember, I’m no techie and speak English as opposed to technospeak.

yes the calendar automatically changes to what time zone you are in. It orients the calendar to the time in the time zone you set it too. Pretty cool.
