We have had some great Covo’s over the almost three past years, but last night was special. The audience was so awesome and the comics certainly brought it. Hope to see everyone in 2013. Our next show is January 27th. Check back for line up information. Thanks!

Headlining Riot Act Comedy Club, DC

June 12, 2012

Last week was such a treat, headlining along with Carolyn Castiglia on Gaylarious at the Riot Act Comedy Club in DC. This popular show produced and hosted by Zach Toczynski and my good friend Chris Doucette had over 250 people. The crowd was amazing. It was a great time and I saw something I never saw in my life – a comedian get a standing ovation. Yes, Carolyn received a well-deserve standing O after giving them a great set and finishing up with her trademark free style rap. Below the comics after the show.

Working with Jane Lynch

May 26, 2012

So last Monday, May 21st were the 2012 Fifi Awards, the Fragrance industry’s Oscars. They hired Jane Lynch to host the award show at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tulley Hall. My good friend and comedian/writer Chris Doucette and I were hired and teamed together to write the opening monologue and wrap-up bits for Jane. It was a great time. Jane is a wonderful professional to work with. Her opening monologue was well received with two applause breaks after our punch lines. In fact, a lot of our jokes made it to the press. The evenings celebrity presenters, which included Martha Stewart, Josh Groban, Chaka Khan, and Nicole Richie complimented Jane on how funny she was in her opening. I guess we did our job!

A few photos here show us backstage where we reviewed what Chris and I tweaked to reflect events of the night, and worked on some wording with Jane. A great collaborative effort.

We hope to get another chance to work with Jane. We love her style and energy on the screen. I think we’d make a great team. 🙂

Jane cracking up at our proposed joke for the wrap up monologue. We didn’t use it. (Too risqué).

Closet Cases: Fun Begins August 25th

August 5, 2011

So I head up to Ptown this weekend to distribute these awesome postcards for Closet Cases. We have an amazing lineup this year. Which includes Frank DeCaro, Kevin Allison, Mimi Gonzalez, Poppy Champlin, and Jennie McNulty. They are joined by other great comedians telling their coming out stories on stage. I host and produce this event, but the creator of the show is Shawn Hollenbach. How magical is Shawn?  Find out. He will be in the lineup from August 25th-August 28th. You’ll see him on Commercial Street bouncing like a pixie handing out these wonderful cards with his amazing logo (last year it unofficially won Ptown’s best show logo award!).

We are sponsored by Human Rights Campaign again this year, which gives a generous gift card to a member of the audience who wants to come up on stage and be interviewed by me about their coming out story.

Fun for all! Hope to see you up there this year.
